Malaysia 2009

Hotel: Berjaya Time Square
Big rooms, with kitchen and living room. Rooms are not well maintained though, but it's ok, hotel is not strict on how many guest in a room. The hotel has a big mall on some floor where you can shop, branded stores on the 1st and 2nd level, it has some rides and food court in the 4rd floor and a stall type "tiange" on the 3rd floor. Conveniently located.

Things to do:
*Genting Highlands
Nice theme park with indoor and outdoor rides, but not very much well maintained, you can see dust on most of the buildings.. Nice thing is, the temperature is cool, so going outdoor rides is great, not much line to wait on each ride. When we were there, it rained in the afternoon but you can always go to their indoor park..

*Petronas Tower
It has a schedule which should be book ahead if you want to go up the tower.

*Menera KL Tower
Go to the top floor for a city view of Kuala Lumpur.

*Kllc Aquaria
Nice aquarium in the middle of the city, but not really big, but ok.

*Batu Cave
It's an hour drive, but should try see it, we didn't climb up to the stairs.. it's quit exhausting..

*Sultan's Palace
Can't go inside, just photo shoot outside

Arriving Malaysia, we hired a van from the airport to get to our hotel. We toured around the city making use of the van we hired for the day, Sultan's palace, Menara, Aquaria...

On the second day, we hired a taxi and went to their bus and train station to grab a ride going to Genting Highlands, but the bus was full and we needed to wait an hour, so we decided to hire a car that drives us to genting highlands. It took almost 2hours to reach Genting highlands. The weather there is cool, plenty of rides with not much in line not like most of the theme parks. On the way home, there's a big store that has all kinds of dried fruits, you can buy it by the kilos.. from fruits to seafoods..

On the 3rd day, went to Batu Cave, an hour drive, had lunch on their local restaurants which is very good and not expensive, recommended by the driver. Then went to buy some chocolates, I didn't know that Malaysia chocolates are really good, specially their durian chocolates.

Overall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's Capital is nice. But arriving from Singapore and comparing both cities, you can say that Singapore is more cleaner, more advance, easier to travel since singapore language is english, and most of the things like transportation or taxis and buildings in singapore are more modern and new. It's amazing to see how Singapore evolved so much that once it was part of Malaysia, and that they were like an outcast from Malaysia with nothing, they were striving and having difficulty on simple daily living commodities like water... But Malaysia has great products, specially on fruits like dried mangoes, dried taros.. they have great produce..
